Hazel Keller Hedrick of County Home Road Conover passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born January 28, 1941 she was the daughter of the late James Dulan and Lillie Mae Dishman Keller. Hazel was a state certified CNA II for the last 16 years. The care and love she gave her patients was the same kind of love & care she would receive back. In addition to her husband of 30 years, John Kenneth â??Kenâ? Hedrick of the home; four daughters, Ann Huffman of Fallston, NC, Rachel Propst of Hickory, Tammy Troutman of Conover, Debbie Smith of Conover; two stepdaughters, Connie Hedrick Smith of Conover, Sharon Hedrick Vetter of Jacksonville, NC; a very special â??adoptedâ? daughter Teresa Hileman of Conover; two sons, David Lee Huffman of Conover, Harvey Jimmy Huffman of Conover; one sister, Georgia Mae Rolland of Lenoir; five brothers, James â??Jimmyâ? Keller of Hickory, Sam Keller of Vale, Stephen â??Peteâ? Keller of Claremont, Monroe â??Buckâ? Keller of Granite Falls and James Dishman of Lenoir; 15 grand-children and 11 great grand-children survive her. A sister, Edna Craig and step-son, Gary Kenneth Hedrick preceded her in death. The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Open Word Holiness Church in Newton with Rev. Matthew Sparks and Rev. Fred Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association, Attn: National Call Center, 1701 N.
