Henry Lanford Hewitt died August 11, 2023 at Brookdale Senior Care in Statesville. Henry served his country in the US Army from June 1962 - June 1965. He retired after 30+ years from General Electric in Hickory, NC. His favorite hobby was tending to his roses.
He is proceeded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Eaker Hewitt, father, Thomas Claude Hewitt, Sr., mother, Nora Mae Drum Hewitt Eckerd, brother, Thomas Claude Hewitt Jr., sister, Rachel Mae Hewitt Neman Flemion, and step-father, Hubert S. Eckerd.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Jacquelyn M. Hewitt, nieces; Donna Hewitt, Verna Neman McGuire, Annette Hewitt Lee, Connie Hewitt Harrill, 6 great nieces, 4 great nephews, 3 great-great nieces, 5 great-great nephews.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
