Herbert Thomas "Herb" Foster, 81, died Saturday; March 9, 2013 at Brian Center-Viewmont. Born November 2, 1931 in Polk County, he was the son of the late Wilbur Dean Foster and Bertie Alley Foster. Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Pamela Renae Foster Kistler. Also preceding him in death were three brothers; Edward L. Foster, James L. Foster Sr., and Buford Foster; three nephews, Roger D Foster, Danny Foster and Edward L Foster II; and one great-nephew, James L ?Trey? Foster III. Herbert Foster is survived by a son; Scott Wells and wife Melissa Wells and their children Scott Wells II, Jeffrey Holder, and Meredith Mitchell of Hickory, NC. Also many nieces and nephews and their families including but not a conclusive listing are; Evelyn F. Causey and family; Barbara F. White and husband O.P. Howell and family; Wanda F. ?Maggie? Lovejoy and husband Raymond Lovejoy and family; James L. Foster II and wife Lisa Foster and family; the daughters of the late Buford and Mildred Foster; Vickie, Diane, and Kathy, and respective families. Great nieces and nephews include Brooke Canipe Ross; Brandi Johnson Deal; Janae White; Joseph Rogel; James Rogel; Christopher Troy Foster; Elysa Foster; Terry Foster; Gina Foster; Brian Foster, and their respective families and the grandchildren of Buford and Mildred Foster. He is survived by many great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Jane Dietz of Hickory is a long-time and supportive friend. Other friends include but are not limited to Anita Smith and her family. Herbert enjoyed family and friends; boating; shooting pool; classic cars from the 50?s and 60?s and in his younger years was a biker, a ?Harley?man. Herb loved to have fun and fun always found its way to him. He had many memories to share with all who wished to hear. He was creative in his thinking and a very hard working man leaving very little to try or to accomplish. In his earlier years he was a respected Auto Body Repair Professional and also worked many years as a carpet installer. Herb was a fun-loving, kind and helpful person to everyone he knew. Those who are blessed to have known him will never forget him. May he rest peacefully with our Lord Jesus eternally as we wait until that perfect day when we all are together again and forever. Amen.
