Ima Grant

Evelyn Ima Jean Reid Grant, 72 of Newton, died Thursday June 28, 2007 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. A member of Unity Baptist Church, she was a former Server with both locations of Startown Fish Camp. Born July 1, 1934 in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of Etta Campbell of Granite Falls and the late James Frank Gilbert. In addition to her mother, her husband, Jack Lee Grant of the home, whom she was married 56 years; two sons, Bryan Franklin Grant of Claremont and Gregory Jack Grant of Marion; a brother, Johnny Reid of Patterson and four grandchildren, Brandon Grant, Shawn Grant, Michael Grant and Donna Grant, survives her. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday July 1, 2207 on her 73rd birthday, at Unity Baptist Church with the Revs. James Moore, Gregory Grant and Michael Grant officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
