Ironton Tomblin

September 26, 1941 — December 31, 2020

Ironton "Art" Justice Tomblin, 79, of Taylorsville died Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Frye Regional Medical Center as a result of COVID 19 after surviving cancer 7 times. Born, September 26th, 1941 he was the son of the late Melvin Tomblin Sr. and Martha Ellen Tomblin. Art was a active member of Longview Church of God, retired from Clayton Marcus in Hickory, and after retirement worked for Classic Cars of Hickory. He loved wood working, trout fishing, watching golf, feeding his birds, and looking after his cat, Snowball.

In addition to his wife of 57 years Donna Sue Ellis Tomblin of the home; he is survived by a daughter Billie M. Little and husband Ecford of Matthews; Keith Tomblin and wife Candy of Taylorsville; sisters Mary Rudisill and husband Tommy of Hickory, Byrle Browning of Chapmanville, WV, Alpha Buchannan and husband Robert of Claremont, Rosetta Atkins of Chapmanville, WV, Donna Kade and husband George of Rutherford College; brothers Josiah Tomblin and wife Wilma of Tenn, Merrill Tomblin and wife Betty of Rhodhiss, Johnny Tomblin and wife Janice of Stony Point, James Tomblin and wife Kathy of Hickory, Melvin Tomblin Jr. and wife Mildred of Hickory, Charles Tomblin and wife Terri of Hildebran; 8 grandchildren Courtney Moseley and husband Justion, Olen Little and wife Kate, Connor Tomblin and special friend Natasha, Logan Walters and wife Jayla, Hannah Little, Luke Justice Little, Kaden Tomblin, Maci Cook; and 5 great great grandchildren Parker Ironton Moseley, Aspen Little, Pharris Moseley, Baylor Little and Carter Walters.

In addition to his parents, infant sister Rhoda Tomblin; a sister- in- law Elaine Tomblin; and brothers- in- law Joe Browning and Clifford Atkins preceded him in death.

A graveside service will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 at Catawba Memorial Park with Pastor Ken Jenkins officiating.

Pallbearers will be his five grandsons along with Justion Moseley and Dean Heavner.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Church of God Children's Home 3485 Orphanage Cir, Concord, NC 28027.
