J. Lunsford

J. Dean Lunsford, 74 of Hickory formerly of Thomasville where he grew up at the Thomasville Baptist Children's Home, went home to be with his Lord Saturday April 12th, 2014 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born in Wilkes County May 27th, 1939 he was the son of the late Lonnie Lunsford and Barbara Stella Pendergrass Lunsford. A National Guard Veteran he is a retired solid waste management sales representative. His previous wife of 40 years, Glenda Propst Lunsford; three daughters, Stephanie Fulbright and husband Randy of Vale, NC, Denise Collins of Hickory and Dee Dee Vazquetelles of Fort Mill, SC; a sister, Wanda McCormick and husband Bill of Greensboro; seven grandchildren, Anthony Caldwell and wife Jessica, Joshua Fulbright, Jordan Fulbright, Kiana Vazquetelles, Ava Vazquetelles, Ashlee Collins, Emylee Collins, and one great grand-daughter, Lillie Caldwell survive him. A daughter, Debora Caldwell; two sisters, Alice Smith and Avalee Hendren preceded him in death. Memorials may be made The Mitchell Museum at Mills Home, Thomasville, NC 27360. The funeral will be 3:30 pm Thursday April 17th, 2014 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Flick officiating. Burial will follow at Conover Cemetery.
