James Beam

James Edward Beam 75, of Hickory, died Friday, December 28th, 2018 after suffering a brief illness. Born Sunday, January 31st, 1943 he was the son of the late Ray Clement Beam and Hattie Julian. He lived in Statesville until 1970 before moving to the Hickory area. He worked in furniture manufacturing most of his life.
His son, James Beam Jr. and wife Joyce of Long view, his daughter, Cynthia Lee of Icard, three sisters, Judia Deal of Connelly Springs, Maxine Pruitt of Harmony and Kathy Mesimer of Connelly Springs, 4 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren survive him.
In addition to his parents, Two brothers, Donald Beam of Newport Richy Florida, and Larry Beam of Briceville, Tennessee, two sisters, Doris Goforth of Salisbury, North Carolina and Brenda Beam of Harmony, North Carolina preceded him in death.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 31st, 2018 at Jenkins Funeral Home with Rev. James McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service.
