James Bishop

James Conard Bishop, Jr. 76 of Hickory died Friday, August 27, 2021 at Carolina Caring. Born February 20th, 1945 he was the son of the late James Conard Bishop Sr. and Nellie Frances Bishop.  A US Army veteran, he was the owner and operator of J.R.'s Roofing Company.

His wife, Carol Ann Turner Bishop of the home; two daughters, Jamie Frye and fiance, Eric Landis of Hickory and Jennifer Roberts of Wilkesboro; two sisters, Kathleen Price of Lenoir and Ersula Haas of Lenoir; five grandchildren, Casey Roberts, Sabian Frye, Xander Frye, Halo Frye and Paisley Frye and a great granddaughter, Sophia Roberts survive him.

A brother, Harold Bishop and a sister, Izella Miller preceded him in death.

The funeral will be 3:00 pm Thursday September 2, 2021 at the chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Rabey officiating. Pallbearers will be Keith Bishop, Isaias Alcantara, James Miller, Jr., Gene Roberts, Casey Roberts and Doug Price. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 pm Thursday prior to the service.
