James Franklin Carpenter, 71, of Hildebran, died Tuesday, January 15th, 2019 at Burke Hospice & Palliative Care. Born Monday, June 2nd, 1947 he was the son of the late Robert Franklin Carpenter and Mary Lucille. He loved his dog Osiris, gardening and Goose Creek Symphony. He also loved history and science.
His wife, Donna Carpenter; three daughters, Monica Black and husband Gary of Hickory, Joy Martin and Leslie Walker and husband Jimmy of Conover; two sons, Jay Carpenter and wife Vicky of Hildebran, and Donny Taylor and wife Allison of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren, Brittany Duncan Haynes and husband Cameron of Hickory, Summer Carpenter of Hickory, Autumn Carpenter of Hildebran, Cameron Martin of Hickory, Miya Walker of Conover, Sam Black of Hickory and Tripp Taylor of Taylorsville; and one great grand daughter, Braelynn Miller of Hickory survive him.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Bobby Carpenter preceded him in death.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Jenkins Funeral Home with Chaplain Richard Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
