James Wallace Elliott, 79 of Hickory died Monday, February 1st, 2016 at his residence. Born October 13th, 1936 he was the son of the late Isaac Elliott and Fannie Elliott. He was a textile machinist. He was an avid fisherman with his grandsons and loved spending time in his workshop. His wife of 61 years Carolyn Hight Elliott of the home; Dana Shea Elliott and wife Deidria of Connelly Springs; a daughter, Tonya Elliott Webb and husband Keith of Alexandria, LA; three brothers-in-law, Ray Burns of Drexel, Harry Hight and wife Pat of Newton and Bill Hight of Statesboro, GA; seven grandchildren, Chris Elliott, Adam Webb and wife Rebekah, Chase Webb, Chance Elliott and wife Jenn, Sean Elliott, Luke Elliott, Sam Elliott; a granddaughter, Kassie Elliott and six great grandchildren, Madison Webb, Gabriel Webb, Connor Webb, Cheyenne Elliott, Briana Elliott and Raleigh Webb survive him. A son, James Michael Elliott; three sisters, Virginia Colvin, LaVera Carver and Doris Burns,preceded him/her in death. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Friday, February 5th, 2016 at Penelope Baptist Church with Rev. Nicholas King officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm-2:00 pm Friday, February 5th, 2016 at the church.
