James Cebron Matthews Sr. 72, of Hickory died Monday, August 16, 2021. Born, September 30th, 1948 he was the son of the late Paul Charles and Mary Lowe Watson. James served in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force for 4 Years.
A daughter Nicole Bundens and husband Jeff of Jonesborough, TN,; a son James Matthews Jr. and wife Brook of Taylorsville; two sisters Linda Love of Hickory, Mickey Hicks and husband Lewis of Hickory; grandchildren James Matthews III, William Matthews survive him.
His parents preceded him in death.
The funeral will be 11:00 am Thursday, August 26th, 2021 at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Deal officiating. Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Thursday, August 26th, 2021 at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church.
