James Mcleod

James Ervin McLeod, Jr. 67 of North Ashe Ave., Newton died Tuesday, June 05, 2012 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born July 30, 1944 he was the son of the late James Ervin McLeod, Sr. and Nellie Alice Punch McLeod. Three daughters, Tabithia Rehnee McLeod of Conover, Nellie Sue McLeod Green and husband Clarence of Conover and Carolyn Denise McLeod of Newton; a son, John Ervin McLeod of Conover; a sister, Treva Deese Hagar and husband Pete of Conover; a brother, Terry Deese and wife Kay of Newton; eight grand-children; two great grand-children, three step grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews survive him. In addition to his wife of 45 years, Martha Bell Stone McLeod; a brother, Larry Punch, Step father, Noah Deese and step mother, Florence Deese preceded him in death. The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Homer McCreary will officiate. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery.
