James White

James Carroll White, 65 of Liberty Church Road, Hickory died Monday, June 18, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. Born April 12, 1947 in Catawba County, NC, he was the son of the late Louise Buchanan and James Max White of Hickory. James was a truck driver for 47 years and loved driving to Florida. He enjoyed driving his 76 Chevy Nova, enjoyed the N.C. Mountains and loved spending time with his family at home. He loved his dogs Lakota & Snowball. In addition to his wife of 37 years, Priscilla Ann Harmon of the home; a daughter, Diana W. Freeman and husband Brad of Crouse, NC; a son, Jonathan Carroll White and wife Lawanda of Claremont; stepmother, Lee White & husband Max of Hickory; two sisters, Vickie Link and husband Jerry of Hildebran and Debbie White of Longview; a brother, Gerald D. White of Hildebran; sister in law, Brenda H. Holmes of Hickory; a niece, Tonya Martin; two nephews, Jeffrey Link and David Lee White; and two grand-children, Nathan Aaron White and Ivy Dawn Griggs and best friend Leroy of Hickory survive him. The funeral will be 3:00 pm Friday, June 22, 2012 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Jerome Walker will officiate.
