Janet Ashley

Janet Lynn Ashley, 51 of Lucky Lane, Newton died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born July 13, 1960, she was the daughter of Everett Lovett and Edith Hart Lovett of Charlotte. Janet was a loving mother and grand-mother. She was kind hearted, honest, courageous and compassionate. She was a very giving person without ever expecting anything in return. She will truly be missed! In addition to her parents; her husband, James Ashley of the home; four sons, Steven Overcash, Brian Overcash, Joseph Ashley and Christopher Ashley all of Hickory; four sisters, Lucy McDonald of Melbourne, Florida, Donna Lam of Charlotte, Gloria Calvert of Monroe, NC and Karen Goins of Connelly Springs; a brother, Donald Corpening of Valdese; six grand-children, Joseph, Nathanial, Zayden, Emaly and Jayda Ashley and Jayden Turner survive her. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October, 18, 2011 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Pastor Steven Stinson of Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte will officiate. Burial will be at Hart Family Cemetery and will be private. Pallbearers include, Steven Overcash, Brian Overcash, Joseph Ashley, Christopher Ashley, Michael Boughman and Brandon Parker. The family will receive friends 2-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Janet Lynn Ashley Memorial Fund, 4081 Startown Rd.
