Janice Cornett

Janice Lynn Cornett, 57 of Hickory passed away Monday, July 14th, 2014 at her home. Born November 19th, 1956 in Ohio, she was the daughter of Berdine Wilkinson and the late Ward Davenport. Janice was a dedicated wife, mother, grand-mother, daughter, sister, and friend. In addition to her husband of 40 years Gary Dean Cornett of Hickory; two sons Christopher Cornett and wife Melissa of Claremont, NC, Kevin Cornett and fiancé Jenna Cheek; two sisters Wanda Greer and husband Mike of Granite Falls, Audrey Frazier and husband Roger of Granite Falls; her mother Berdine Davenport and husband Albert Clawson of Lenoir, NC; and three grand-children Caden Cornett, Melanie Cornett, and Lily Cornett survive her. The family wishes to thank the hospice nurses and staff of Catawba Regional Hospice, with special thanks to Nurse Beth Whitener. The funeral will be 10:00 am Thursday, July 17th, 2014 at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Yount officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, July 16th, 2014 at Jenkins Funeral Home.
