Martha Jean Presnell Teams, 87, of Vale, North Carolina passed away December 18, 2023, in Hospice care at Trinity Ridge in Hickory, North Carolina.
She was born September 6, 1936, in Blowing Rock, North Carolina to the late John Glenn Presnell and Jessie Lee Parker Presnell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jay Lenard Teams.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Teams Edwards and husband Tim Edwards of Citra, Florida, Martha P. Teams and husband Tony Baldridge of Vale, North Carolina; one son, Malcolm E. Teams of Vale, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Brianna Teams Richardson of Morganton, North Carolina and Tonya Baldridge of Vale, North Carolina; one great-grandson, Kohen Jay Richardson of Morganton, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Eva Nell Miller of Vilas, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Bob Dotson of Kannapolis, North Carolina; plus, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Blowing Rock High School where she played basketball. She attended Appalachian State Teachers College. She was a member of Hope Chapter #1, order of the Eastern Star in Boone for over 60 years. Jean worked at Shadowline, Inc. in Boone where she was a supervisor for 8 years. She worked at TRW/IRC in Boone. She worked as a cashier and title clerk at Mack Brown, Inc a GM Dealership in Boone for 11 years. After moving to Catawba County, she worked as a title clerk at Paramount Automotive Group for 11 years before retiring.
She enjoyed working on Genealogy and listening to Gospel Music. Her hobbies were gardening, knitting, reading, and working jigsaw puzzles.
Jean was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Vale, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2023, at 2:00pm at Corinth Baptist Church. 7929 W. NC 10 Hwy, Vale, NC 28168. Receiving of friends will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
