Jeannette Baker

Jeannette (Jeannie) Louise Baker 72, of Hickory died Thursday, June 16th, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born September 8th,1943, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Effie Ward. Jeannie worked for the Teamster Union Local 61 for 34 years, and was one of the first women voted to their Executive Board as a Recording Secretary. After retirement she began working part time for the Board of Elections for over 20 years. Jeannie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be truly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her husband of 54 years Bobby Baker; a daughter, Angie Beach and husband Mike of Hickory; a son David Baker and wife, Lori of Hickory; two brothers, Robert Ward of Hickory, Sam Ward of Hickory; three grand children, Ashley Beach Smith of Hickory, Corbin Baker of Lincolnton, and Zoey Baker of Hickory Survive her. In addition to her parents, her brother Donald Ward preceded her in death. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 18th, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor John Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm Saturday, June 18th, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church .
