Jerry Linton Rudisill, 75, of Newton passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Born, March 9th, 1946 he was the son of George Linton Rudisill and Sarah Louise Smith Rudisill. Jerry was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Marine Corp. He love his country, racing, children and grandchildren. He worked many years at Hickory Motor Speedway on the cleanup crew and as ground maintenance. He also worked on the cleanup crew at TriCounty Speedway. He was a Nascar official for 11 years where is served as cook for the Truck series and helped with Xfinity and Cup as well. He loved going to Dick’s cafe for breakfast, Jin’s buffet for frog legs and hanging out at Harbor Inn oyster bar on Thursday nights with many friends. If you were at a track he would be there cooking. Mostly in his Barrel and everyone was welcome to eat. He called everyone “Lil’ Buddy” because he never met a stranger. He was a true friend to all who knew him and he would help anyone who needed it. He will truly be missed.
In addition to his special companion Patsy Rudisill Boders; two daughters Jodie R. Browning and husband Walter of Maiden, Pam Shook and husband Kenny Claremont; son Eric Rudisill and wife Beth of Charlotte; two sisters, Ruth Ann Bradley of Taylorsville, Blonnie Oaks and husband David of Shelby; two brothers Kenneth Rudisill and wife Marlene of Hickory, Larry Rudisill and wife Gale of Lenoir; grandchildren Samantha, Andy, Kyle, Hannah, Zachary, Eric Jr. and Luke; and a great granddaughter Kinsley survive him.
In addition to his parents, his sister Betty preceded him in death.
The funeral will be 2:00 pm Tuesday June 8, 2021 at Hickory Motor Speedway.
The family will receive friends from 10-12:00 pm Tuesday June 8, 2021 at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home. The family will take a short break after the visitation and will meet at Hickory Motor speedway for the service at 2 pm.
