Jeter Edward "Eddie" Greene Jr. 26, died unexpectedly Friday, October 3, 2008. Eddie was born December 16, 1981, in Caldwell County. Eddie is the son of Mr. Bobby and Wilma Jean Spears Yount & Mr. Jeter Edward "Eddie" Greene Sr. both of Granite Falls, NC. Eddie is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Stacy Spears Holloway and brother in-law Jamie of Granite Falls and Miss Melinda Jean Greene of Wilmington, NC; a brother, Christopher "Chris" Bobby Yount of the home; His fiancé, Melody Wilson and his future daughter, Jessica of Granite Falls; a niece, Mikayla Michelle Holloway, a nephew, Austin Dale Holloway of Granite Falls; maternal grandparents, Mr. William Gene and Ella Jean Spears of Arp, Texas and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Cleo Greene of Miami, Florida; Extended grandparents, Mr. James and Dean Howell of Granite Falls and Mrs. Mary Ruth Spears of Gamewell; four aunts, Mrs. Billie Mae Spears Greene and Mrs. Carolyn Lynn Spears Puett, both of Lenoir, Mrs. Sharon Ruth McDonald and Mrs. Sarah Rene Yochum, both of Arp, Texas; Eddie was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Sally Mae Hartley Spears, Great grandparents, Mr. Gwyn and Zora Hartley, paternal great-grandfather, Duel Spears; paternal grandfather, Mr. Jeter "Jack" Greene, paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Molly Greene and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Melissa Holtzclaw. Eddie attended South Caldwell High School in Granite Falls. He was owner and CEO of Eddie's Masonry for 9 years. He loved going skiing, riding motorcycles and staying on Lake Hickory with family and friends on his pontoon boat. Eddie was also involved in Boy Scouts as a young boy. Most of all, he loved his family and long-time friends. He would go out of his way to help anyone that needed help whenever possible. A Celebration and worship service will be 3:00 pm Friday October 10, 2008, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Wayne White, Rev. Kenneth Winkler and Rev. James Howell. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 pm Thursday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Granite Falls. Pallbearers will be Monty Puett, Chad Curtis, Josh Curtis, Chuck Curtis, Carey Wimbish and Brian McCall. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Greene and John Taylor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jeter Edward "Eddie" Greene Jr. fund at any Parkway Bank location.
