Jimmy Lee Heavner, 60 of Brittany Lane, Lexington NC, formerly of Newton died Friday, April 23, 2010 at NC Baptist Hospital. Born November 4, 1949 he was the son of the late Rebecca Orpha Smith & Paul Jacob Heavner. Jimmy was a US Marine Corps Veteran of Vietnam. He was a 1968 graduate of Fred T. Foard High School, worked 27 years with Corning Cable and worked several years with Burlington Coat Factory. Two daughters, Rebecca Pandora Heavner of Claremont, Sabrina Malea & husband Chris Nicholson of Conover; four sisters, Ruby Evelyn Craver of Lexington, Helen Fulton of Winston Salem, Lena Wadell of Winston Salem, Tammy Trafton of Longview; a brother, Jack A. & wife, Star Heavner of Catawba and a grand-daughter, Jordan Nicholson survive him. A brother, Tim Heavner preceded him in death. A Memorial Service will be 2:30 pm Thursday, April 29, (correction from previous date) 2010 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Bishop Don Bledsoe & Pastor Ron Carson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-2:30, (correction from previous time) prior to the service on Thursday, at the funeral home.
