Joann Lowery Powers 75 of Vale passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at her home. Born August 16th, 1945 she was the daughter of Charles Avery and Susie Lowery. Joann was a avid member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Vale. She retired from home health Care as a CNA. Joann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed.
In addition to her husband of 37 years Paul Noel Powers; a son Chris Stines and wife Nicole of Vale; a grandson Brandon Stines and wife Sarah of Hickory; a brother Benny Lowery and wife Audra of Colorado Springs, Colorado survive her.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Janet and Steve, Joe and Jill, Patsy and Jim and Wilma and James.
In addition to her her parents; two brothers Marion Lowery, Eddie Lowery; and her sister Dot Slaten preceded her in death.
A outdoor Celebration of Life will be held at 11am Saturday September 26, 2020 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Vale.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon building fund at 1156 Northbrook III School Rd, Vale, NC 28168
Jenkins Funeral Home staff is not involved in the memorial service at the church.
