Johnny Starnes

Johnny Hayden Starnes Sr., 87, of Hickory died Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at The Greens at Viewmont. Born January 6th, 1935 he was the son of the late Glenn and Pauline Starnes. Johnny was a truck driver for 52 years and served in the United States Army.

Two daughters, Karen Cook and Tammy Gibbs (Floyd); his son, Johnny Starnes Jr.; his sister, Regina Smith; his brothers, Scottie Starnes (Debra) and Dale Starnes; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren survive him.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Margaret Keller preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Jenkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. The family will be gathering at Tammy's home.
