Jonathan Collmar

Jonathan Andrew Collmar left this world all too soon on April 9, 2018 after a brief sickness.

Jon was the child of Kitty Collmar and the late Melvin Collmar. Jon worked at WalMart in Dallas where his smile was contagious and his cheer irresistible. Jon was kind, loving, and giving to all he met; his light too soon gone. What remains is a legacy of putting others before self; his daughter Jessica (Bellah) with wit and charm like his; a beautiful soul for a mother; brother, Richard; sister-in-law, Charlie; sister, Brenda; special cousin, Bobbie Jo; aunts, uncles, many cousins and more friends than one could ever count. Jon greeted everyone with a smile and zest for life. To know Jon was to love him. He found humor in all aspects of life and was quick to share a laugh. He made it his mission to encourage others and truly loved the people around him. Jon was compassionate and put others before himself and that was manifest by the endless gestures many of us will forever remember. Jon was one of a kind and will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever. One can't help but smile at the very thought of him. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life Thursday April 19th, 4pm at Salem Baptist Church, 1534 Rolling Meadow Lane, Gastonia, NC.
