Joseph Lewis Butler, 34 of Section House Road, Hickory, died Wednesday March 29, 2006 at Carolinas Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born August 14, 1971 in Charlotte, NC he is survived by his wife Heather Dawn Spencer Butler and a daughter Shinece Jackson of the home, his mother, Bettie Butler McMurray of Charlotte, two sisters, Monica McMurray and Sharron Edwards and husband Lorenzo of Charlotte, paternal grandmother, Edna McMurray of Charlotte, a brother-in-law Tim Spencer of Hickory, father and mother-in-law, Michael and Judy Hilton of Hickory, and a number of nieces and nephews and cousins. His father Michael Lewis McMurray preceded him in death. He was currently employed by Hickory Springs Manufacturing and was previously employed by the city of Longview and Smith and Setzer Pipe Co. The funeral will be Saturday April 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home. The Rev. Gilbert McCaskill will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday March 31, at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00pm. Burial will follow at Jenkins Cemetery.
