Jovian King

Jovian Marque King "Red Bone", 44, of Hickory passed away Friday, April 28th, 2023, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born, September 15th, 1978, he was the son of Karen Anne King and the late John Wilford Martin. He was an avid football fan. He played defensive tackle position (number 72) for Hickory High School, he later went on to win the football state championship of 1996. His family meant everything to him and he will be truly missed by all.

He is survived by his fiancé, Leslie Erin Blanchard of Hickory; a daughter, Hailee Maureen Melanson of Hickory; a son, Noah Maleek Blanchard of Hickory; five sisters, Angel Davidson Martin of Hickory, Nikki King of Hickory, Sierra King of Hickory, Shardae King of Hickory, Jessica Wilson of Hickory; four nieces, Jahnia, Jasiyah, Jaleiyah, Jenesis; two nephews,Tahmez, Ja'Qui; and a host of many loved, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In addition to his father, John Wilford Martin, he is preceded in death by a nephew, Zamare' Davidson.

The memorial service will be 3PM, Sunday, May 7th, 2023 at Morning Star Baptist Church, located at 126 4th Ave SW, Hickory, NC 28602.

Jenkins Funeral Home staff is not involved in the memorial service at the church.
