June Erlene Bowler 77 of Vale died Wednesday, September 9th, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice after a courageous 2 year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease). Born April 6th, 1938,in Lawrence County, IL, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ruth Bowler. June lived the majority of her life in NY where she moved at 18 years of age and met her husband. A retired AT&T Service Order Administrator, she relocated to North Carolina in 2001. She loved spending time with her family and friends and found great contentment working in her yard. She never met a stranger and left an indelible mark on those who made her acquaintance. Even through the last days of her illness she maintained her infectious sense of humor. Two daughters, Tamara Roode and husband Richard of Mohegan Lake, NY, Jennifer Hellinger of Vale; a sister Madalene White and husband Stan of Richmond, Indiana; a brother Cline Bowler and wife Sue of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two grandchildren Brendan Roode, Deanna Hellinger and a number of nieces and nephews survive her. In addition to her parents, a son in law David Hellinger; a sister Norma Swan; two brothers Bud Bowler and Lawrence Bowler preceded her in death. Services will be held in her home town of Lawrenceville, Illinois at a later date.
