Katherine Buchanan

Katherine Sue Buchanan 68 of Claremont died Wednesday November 6th, 2013 at her residence. Born June 9th, 1945 she was the daughter of the late Clate Buchanan and Lillian Braswell Buchanan. She enjoyed eating and traveling. Two brothers, Robert Buchanan and wife Alpha of the home and William Buchanan and wife Rachel of Hickory; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews survive her. A sister Julia Houston and a brother Edward Buchanan preceded her in death. The family expresses special thanks to her caregiver, Brenda Hodge and to her doctor Robert Swedlund. A graveside service will be 12:00 pm Friday November 8th, 2013 at Yellow Mountain Cemetery in Newland, NC with her brother, Pastor Robert Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 pm Thursday November 7th, 2013 at Jenkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
