Larry Kent Bohemier 79 of Newton died Saturday, June 9th, 2018 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born September 25th, 1938, he was the son of the late Lawrence Edgar Bohemier and Mary Henrietta Westcott Bohemier.

His wife of 53 years, Ann Christine Bohemier of the home; a daughter, Tammie Riera and husband Alfonso of Southlake, TX; two sons, Todd Bohemier and wife Rhonda of Newton, Chad Bohemier and wife Michelle of Easley, SC; two sisters, Kristine Trembley of Springfield, MA and Diane Sirum of Montague, MA; two brothers, Gregory Bohemier of Hesperus, CO., and Robert Bohemier of Beverly Hills, FL; eight grandchildren, Alex, Amy, Allison, Angie, Emma, Zoe, Luke and Morgan survive him.

Larry was a loving son, caring brother, faithful husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, master craftsman.  These are just a few words that describe the man who influence our lives and set an example of a Godly servant.  As a youth, Larry proudly served his country through his 4 years of honorable service aboard the Aircraft Carrier the USS Ranger with the U.S. Navy.  Shortly after his tour of duty, he met and married Ann, the love of his life.  For the next 53 years, 3 children and 8 grandchildren Larry left an impression on hundreds of lives that will forever be preserved in both our minds and in our hearts.

Larry reflected the love of Jesus through his heart and was gifted with the hands of a master craftsman.  He used his hands to mold, create and build things that brought joy to many people though his highly skilled and artistic talent of wood working and paintings.  He also used his servant heart to comfort, love, and restore the lives of many who during their times of struggle, hopelessness and despair.  Larry Bohemier was the “Good Samaritan” as described in the Bible.  He imitated Christ’s Humility as explained with God’s truth through this passage found in (Philippians 2:1-5)

“Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.  In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.“
