Larry Slater

Larry James Slater 72 of Lincolnton died Saturday May 18, 2013 at Levine and Dickson Hospice in Huntersville. Born April 26th, 1941 he was the son of Clois Len Slater and Mildred Irene Slater. He was a U.S. Army veteran. His wife of 50 years, Peggy Ann Slater of the home; four daughters, Corinna Followell and husband James of St. Petersburg, FL, Deborah Cox of Lincolnton, Lisa Lowery and husband Wayne of Dallas, NC and Kimberly Slater and finace Tony Garcia of Lincolnton; a son, Larry James Slater, Jr. and wife Doree of Springhill, FL; Two brothers, Robert Slater of Harrisburg, IL and George Slater of Vincennes, IN; two sisters, Mary Brand of Springhill, FL and Diane Field of Mt. Vernon, IL. and 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren survive him. A grandson, Nathaniel Adam Schroeter: two brothers, Wayne Slater and Timothy Slater preceded him in death. The funeral will be 6:00 pm Tuesday May 21st, 2013 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Rhodes officiating.
