Larry Watts

Larry Wayne "Kornbread" Watts 76 of Newton passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at his residence. Born August 31st, 1944 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Lester Watts and Bertha Watts.  His grandchildren always came first. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, running his beagles and socializing with his many friends. Larry worked for Mathews Construction until he retired.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Diane B. Watts of the home; two sons, Todd Watts (Kynetha) of Newton and Nelson Lutz (Gina) of Newton; a sister, JoAnn Bollinger of Hickory; three grandchildren, Carson Watts, Ryan Lutz and Josh Lutz and a number of nieces and nephews survive him.

In addition to his parents, five brothers, Bill Watts, Bob Watts, James Watts, Sam Watts, and Harold Watts preceded him in death.

A private memorial service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 at the chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Helton officiating.

A Time of Remembrance for family and friends will be 12:00-2:00pm Wednesday, February 24th, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home.
