Larry Yount

Larry Adrian Yount 70 of Conover passed away Sunday, March 12th, 2017 at his residence. Born  June 28th, 1946 he was the son of the late Lawrence Yount and Floy Yount Deal. Larry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His greatest joy was playing with his grandchildren. He was a devoted member of Abernethy United Methodist Church where he enjoyed serving as an usher. Before retiring, he was the owner and operator of Sherrill Oil Company in Hickory.   His wife of 49 years, Joyce Bowman Yount of the home; two daughters, Lori Yount Stewart and husband, Jason Stewart of Newton and Kim Yount Mullinax and husband, Robert A. Mullinax, Jr. of Newton; a brother, Ralph Yount of Hickory; five grandchildren, Whitney Stewart, Tanner Stewart, John Mullinax, Adrienne Mullinax and Zac Mullinax survive him. In addition to his parents a brother, Fred W. Yount preceded him in death. The funeral will be 2:30 pm Thursday, March 16th, 2017 at Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Faye Herbin officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:15 pm Thursday, March 16th, 2017 at Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Abernethy Memorial United Methodist Church, 111 West 13th Street Newton, NC 28658.   Please sign the online guestbook at www.jenkinsfuneralhome.net.
