Laura Mays

Laura Clark Mays 50 of Hickory died Sunday November 10th, 2013 at Catawba Regional Hospice-Sherrills Ford, NC. Born August 15th, 1963 she was the daughter of Lawrence Thomas Bulla of Lewisburg, WV and the late Patricia Jean Bulla. She worked for Broyhill Furniture for 12 years. She enjoyed skiing, camping and going to muscle car shows and the beach. She enjoyed time with her family and her cats. She was the "peacemaker" of her family. Her husband of 14 years, Ray Winford Mays of the home; her step-mother, Nancy Bulla; a step-daughter, Kandra Marie Cook and husband Ed of Ikard, NC; a step son, Timothy Ray Mays and wife Amanda of Hickory; a sister, Mary Blake Kinsloe and husband Tom of Weston, FL; a step-sister, Katherine Calloway and husband Jason; three grandchildren, Matthew Cook, Alora Mays and Elijah Mays; three nieces, Grace and Helen, Patricia Riester of Weston, FL and four nephews, Jay Edison, Clark, Grady and Davis Riester of Weston, FL ; father-in-law, Glenn Mays and Frances of Hickory; her aunt, Vicki Gentry of Lenoir and her uncle, Jimmy Clark of Lenoir survive her. A step-sister, Helen Hill, preceded her in death. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday November 13th, 2013 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kim Dowell officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 pm Wednesday at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir with The Rev. Dr. David Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00pm Wednesday November 13th, 2013 at Jenkins Funeral Home.
