Laurene Mae Fredenberg, 86, of Lincolnton died Monday, November 18, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 15th, 1933 in Monticello, New York to the late Lael LaGrande and Irene Kinch.
Laurene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family was her entire world; they knew her as Meme. She loved staying home to be able to cook and care for them. Laurene was very active in the Boy and Girl Scouts as her children grew up and when she had some time she loved to read, crochet, and watch The Hallmark Channel.
She is survived by her two daughters Lynda Fredenberg of Lincolnton, NC and Lori Thompson (Richard) of Bath, NH; her son Richard Fredenberg (YenJen) of Latrobe, PA; her grandchildren Cheryl McKean (Richard), Christy Boyles (Stuart), Mike Thompson (Samantha Gildea), Corey Thompson (Ashley), Kim Fredenberg, and Sean Fredenberg; her great grandchildren Kyle McKean, Derek McKean, Christian Boyles, Carter Thompson, Cassidy Thompson, Kaylum Thompson; her niece Susie Edwards (John); and her nephews Jimmy Petrowsky (Penny) and Al Petrowsky.
In addition to her parents, her husband Rodney Willard Fredenberg, her brother Lael Kinch and her great grandson Joshua Cole Boyles preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epilepsy Research at Boston Children's Hospital, in memory of Laurene Fredenberg, in honor of Christian Boyles.
