Lavinia (Vina) Leaf Morgan, 79 of Newton went to be with the Lord, January 8th, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born February 12th, 1934, she was the daughter of Joseph Bentley and Euphoria Bentley.
In addition to her husband Ronnie of 45 years, two brothers Douglas Bentley and wife Mary of Penicuik, Scotland, Peter Bentley and wife Pauline of Winchester, England; two sisters Isabelle Cooper and husband Donald of Montrose, Scotland, and Jessica Meadows of Sheffield, England; and a very dear cousin and lifelong friend, Margaret Leavy of Penicuik, Scotland survive her.
In addition to her parents a brother John Bentley and a sister Molly Ireland precede her in death.
The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 10th, 2014 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Richard P. Browning, Rev. Cody Ray and Rev. Chris Cashen officiating. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery in Newton, NC.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm, Friday, one hour prior to the service, at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Catawba County or the givers favorite charity.
