Leah Romine

Leah Rae Romine 70 of Hickory died Friday, January 1, 2021 at her residence. Born December 7th, 1950 she was the daughter of the late Ray Vincent Wilcox and Dorothy Wilcox.  She worked on a tugboat as a cook on the Mississippi River for 15 years. She loved to cook, crochet, reading books and gardening. She enjoyed spending time with her family since moving from Winkcliffe, KY.

A son, Anthony (Tony) Wilcox and wife Lori of Hickory; a daughter, Tammy Melancon of Baton Rouge, LA; 10 grandchildren, Alan Burgess, Elizabeth Wilcox, Michael Wilcox, Sara Wilcox, Tyler Taylor, Joshua Sanchez, Leah Sanchez, Marcos Sanchez, Kenny Morefield, Kody Morefield, and Kalaeb Morefield. And four great grandchild, Marcos Sanchez Jr. , Serenity Sanchez, Jibreel Sanchez and Leslie Morefield survive her.

Her husband, Les Romine and a daughter, Leslie Morefield preceded her in death.

A Celebration of Leah's life will be 12:00 pm Wednesday January 6, 2021 at Miller's Lutheran Church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 am-12:00 pm.
