Leona Pero

Leona Marie Pero age 81, of Starbrooke Dr. Newton, died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley. She was born November 16, 1923 in Adams, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Amedee Joseph Daignault and Mary Louise Lemieux. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Armand E. Pero and his wife, Arlene of Cummings, GA and Paul Dennis Pero and his wife, Donna of Newton, and three grandchildren, Simona Lee Pero, Eric Roy Pero and Darren Lee Pero and his wife, Bobbie and a great grandson, Justin Thomas Pero. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Fredrick Pero and two brothers, George Daignault and Larry Daignault. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church ELCA in Startown. The Pastor Chris Christopher will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jenkins Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 or to your local Humane Society.
