Leonard Hawkins

Leonard G Hawkins passed away Tuesday September 12th at 3:15 pm at Carolinas Medical Center in Lincolnton. He had fought a difficult fight since January, when he fell off a ladder painting. Leonard was a retired teacher at Lincoln Middle School and he was the former assistant principal at East Lincoln High School. He was with his close retired teacher friends/golfing buddies & family when he passed. Leonard was also an amazing father and grandfather.  He was the son of Warren G. Hawkins & Sue Leonard Hawkins. He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer N. Punch of Lincolnton, grandsons, Joshua Punch , Rylan Patterson, and a granddaughter, Serenity Punch; a brother, Glen Hawkins of Winston-Salem and many cousins. He was 63. The funeral will be 4:00 pm Friday September 15, 2017 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 pm Friday in the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
