Leroy Ussery

Leroy Christopher Ussery 38 of Maiden died Monday, July 10th, 2017 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born December 2nd, 1978, he was the son of Leroy Ussery and Betty Whittington Ussery. He was a loving son, father and friend. He was a 1998 graduate of Fred T. Foard High School where he played football. He coached pee wee football and softball league.

His parents, Leroy and Betty Ussery of Maiden; a daughter, Destiny Ussery of Conover and a son, Jaylan Ussery of Conover; a sister, Chancellor Ussery of Maiden; maternal grandfather, James Whittington of Maiden; a special friend, Crystal Morrow of Conover; five special cousins, Billie Lynch of Hickory, Calvin Coffey, Jr. of Hickory, Tyrone Bristol of Hickory, Charles Coffey of Hickory and Danyel Whittington of Hickory and four uncles, Jimmy Whittington of Lenoir and Plaz Whittington of Connelly Springs, James Ussery, Jr. of Shelby and Phillip Columbus of Kings Mountain and an aunt, Vera Hopper and husband Johnny of Kings Mountain and a host of cousins and friends survive him. His maternal grandmother, Louise Horton; paternal grandparents, James and Mary Lizzie Ussery; an aunt, Sara Whittington preceded him in death. The funeral will be 3:00 pm Sunday, July 16th, 2017 at Open Door Baptist Church with Pastor Darrell Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bellwood, NC.
