Leslie Jackson

Leslie J. Jackson, 87 of Newton formerly of Erwin ,NC died Monday, November 2nd, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born May 4th, 1928 he was the son of Charlie Jackson and Lilly Jackson. He was an avid gardener. He loved boating and fishing and sharing time with his family. Prior to retirement, he worked on construction projects big and small. His wife of 46 years, Lillian Hagenseiker Jackson of the home; a daughter, Sheree Holman of Durham, NC; three sons, Steven Jackson and wife Bonita of Youngsville, NC, Robin Jackson of Raleigh and Michael Jackson of Raleigh; a step daughter, Laura Northcutt and husband Bill of Gainsville, FL; a step son, Al Kolb and wife Cindy of Indianapolis, IN; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren survive him. Two brothers, Fred Jackson and Charlie Jackson; five sisters, Jessie Marshall, Harriett Gupton, Nova Blake, Rachel Reardon and Mary Harris preceded him in death. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 at Gateway Baptist Church with Pastor Jerome Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
