Linda Barrows

April 7, 1943 — March 10, 2023

Linda Gale Barrows, 79, of Lincolnton passed away peacefully Friday, March 10, 2023 at her residence surrounded by family. Born April 7th, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Evelyn Leathlean. Linda was married to Robert J. Barrows in Titusville, Florida. They traveled the world together while serving 21 years in the United States Air Force. She was his home support while caring for four children.

In June 1981, she graduated from New Hampshire VoTech College as an LPN where she began her 35 year nursing career. She was a highly regarded nurse in her field, she thoroughly enjoyed caring for the elderly.

She served in churches everywhere they lived, teaching Bible studies, Sunday School, Girls in Action and Missions. She taught the English language to Japanese and African people. She loved singing, playing the piano, sewing, gardening, reading, listening to sermons and was a Mighty Prayer Warrior. She was an encouragement and loved to share God's Word with others.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters and one son; Delinda O'Neill, Jamie Barrows, Jeff (Jill) Barrows, Penny (Jason) Ervin; three sisters and one brother, Esther (Frank) Godwin, Rita (Bob) Offi, Eddie (Gwen) Leathlean, Isla Diggs; 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

In addition to her parents, her spouse of 51 years, Robert J. Barrows and her brother, Walter Leathlean preceded her in death.

The funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Covenant Church with Pastor Mike Devine officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
