Linda Chatman

Linda Marie Turner Chatman, 67, of Newton passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born June 10th, 1954 she was the daughter of the late Jack Clinton Turner and Mae Turner. Linda never met a stranger and was very family oriented; her grandchildren were her world. Linda will be missed for her spunky personality and the love she showed her family.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years Robert Chatman; one daughter Amanda Kiser (Jeremy) of Newton; three sons Rickey Chatman (Lori) of Hildebran, Shawn Chatman (Kelly) of Hildebran, and Jack Chatman (Barbie) of Hickory; eleven grandchildren Mason Kiser, Robert Kiser, Sebastian Kiser, Dalton Chatman, Lee Vines, Logan Vines, Kasey Chatman, Nick Chatman, Blane Jenkins, Emma Chatman, and Holden Chatman; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters Donna Peterson of Hickory and Jackie Beal (Davy) of Taylorsville; and one brother Robert Turner (Karen) of Rhodhiss.

In addition to parents she was preceded in death by a great-grandchild Marshall Chatman and numerous aunts and uncles.

The funeral will be 12:00 pm Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Marcus Ollis and Pastor Gabe Hendon officiating. Burial will follow at Marvin United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 - 11:45 am at the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home.
