Linda Eakes

Linda Frances Raynor Eakes, 73, of Dallas passed away Saturday, September 28th, 2024 in Lincolnton. Born October 11th, 1950 in Person County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Harry Square Raynor and Mary Sue Gray Raynor.

Linda worked as a weaver for 25+ years for JP Stevens Manufacturing in Lincolnton. She was a kind woman who enjoyed helping others. Never one to be idle, one could always find her bustling around doing one project or another. She loved to spend time with, and spoil, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom loved to cuddle their Granny and have sleepovers with her. Linda enjoyed watching old westerns and never missed wrestling, enjoying coaching the wrestlers from her armchair.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Dennis Eakes, her grandsons, Jamie Eakes and Travis Eakes, her sisters: Dale Blume, Rose Walker, Clara Lunsford, Anniebell Newcomb, and Sarah Thaxton, her brothers: Mickey Raynor, William Raynor, and Harry Raynor.

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Pryor of Stem, NC, sons Johnnie (Dawn) Eakes and Michael of Lincolnton, a daughter by choice, Tammy Dysart of Lincolnton, grandchildren: Justin (Kayla) Eakes of Dallas, Terilee (Tracey) Hendrix of Cherryville, Jeremy Eakes of Lincolnton, Chastity (Nick) Thomas of Vale, Tyler (Diana) Eakes of Lincolnton, Nicholas (Liz) Eakes of Hendersonville, Dillion Eakes of Conover, Holly Eakes of Lincolnton, and Helena (Bug) Eakes of Lincolnton, and great-grandchildren: Ayden, Oliver, Skyler, Alistair, and Waylon. She is also survived by her good friend, Jerry Dysart of Lincolnton, whom she enjoyed talking about the good old days with and never failed to remind him to take his medicine.
