Linda Gail Pitts Smith, 59 of 22nd Street Court, SE Hickory died Thursday August 2, 2007 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born March 4, 1948 in Watauga County she was the daughter of the late Carl William Pitts, Sr. and Claudine Parlier Pitts. Surviving are her husband, Carl Moore Smith of the home, two sons, Ernest Ray Smith of Hickory and Albert William Smith of Maiden; a step son, Timothy Smith of Bethlehem and a step-daughter, Peggy Smith of Bethlehem; a sister Judy Van Horn of Castlewood, VA and three half brothers and 1 grandchild. A graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday August 5, 2007 at Startown-Jenkins Cemetery at Jenkins Funeral Home. Pastor Dale Faulkenbury will officiate.
