Linda Lou Smith, "Lou Lou" 81, a cherished resident of Conover died Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Heritage Care. Born February 7th, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John Greene and Marie Virginia Greene.
She was a dedicated homemaker, and her home was a haven of warmth and joy for all who entered. Her love for cooking was evident to everyone who had the pleasure of sharing a meal with her, as she crafted dishes inspired by her favorite cooking shows and icons, especially Paula Deen.
Her infectious laughter and zest for life left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. Alongside her husband, Linda enjoyed Saturday nights shagging, reveling in music and dance. She had a great love for reading, immersing herself in romance and mystery novels, and was a devoted fan of "The Mystery of Oak Island."
Family was the cornerstone of Linda's life. She adored her grandchildren and treasured the moments spent cooking and hosting family gatherings. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the tantalizing aromas of her culinary creations.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John Greene and Marie Virginia Greene, as well as her devoted spouse. She was a dedicated homemaker, and her home was a haven of warmth and joy for all who entered.
She is survived by her daughter, Scottie Smith (Billy Sprouse), son John Smith. brother-in-law, Robbie Kiker, grandchildren, John Donald Spizzo and Mitchel Allen Hines, along with great- grandson, Michael Spizzo.
Her loving husband of 55 years, James D. Smith, son, Gary Donald Smith, brother, Wayne Greene, and sister, Debbie Kiker, preceded her in death.
The funeral will be at 2pm, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Jenkins Funeral Home, Chapel.
Burial will follow at Conover City Cemetery
The family will receive friends from 1pm - 2pm Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Jenkins Funeral Home, Celebration Center.
