Loraine Setzer

On Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 8:55 am, Heaven celebrated a surprise birthday party and the honored guest was our angel, Loraine Collins Setzer, 75 of Conover. The guests included our Heavenly Father, her husband, Albert Gates Setzer, Sr. as well as many other friends and family. Born October 28th, 1939 in Marion County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Lavern Collins and Nettie Inez Smith Collins. Among many life accomplishments she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an entrepreneur, including two restaurants and a real estate developing company, a drag racer, and at one time a chauffeur for R.J. Reynolds. She was a longtime member of Tri-City Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory, a daughter, Deborah Loraine Setzer Waugh of Conover; two sons, Billy Keith "Bill" Cox of Hickory & A.J. Setzer and wife Michelle of Roanoke, VA; a sister, Janice Brumbles of Proctorville, NC; two grandsons, Eric Dean Waugh and Joshua Tyler Cox; and three great grand-children, Skylar, Cheyenne and Zander. The funeral will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Tri-City Baptist Church with Pastor Byron Repass officiating. Pallbearers include A.J. Setzer, Johnny Rippy, Bill Cox, Tyler Cox, Eric Waugh and Aaron Little. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
