Lorene Elizabeth Childers 80 of Newton passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 12th, 2018. Born August 24th, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Olis Duncan and Leona Sherrill Duncan.
Her husband of 60 years Gray Childers; a son Timothy Childers of Newton; a daughter Amy Martin and husband Wesley of of Newton; three sisters Margaret Davis of Conover, Dorothy Kepley and husband Tommy of Salisbury, Linda Corpening and husband Al of Mount Holly; two brothers Clyde Duncan and wife Alice of Conover; James Duncan and wife Shasta of Maiden; her grandson Zachary Martin of Newton.
In addition to her parents, a sister Lona Helton; two brothers William Duncan and Perry Duncan preceded her in death.
The funeral will be 3:00 pm Sunday December 16, 2018 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm December 16, 2018 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
