Loretta Howell

 Loretta Bolton Howell, 72 of Hickory died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at her residence. She was born October 31, 1937 in Burke County to her parents; the late William Clarence & Lee G. Franklin Bolton. Five daughters; Terri Lynn & Tonya E. Howell of the home, Tammy Fleming & Buddy Fleming of Haysi, Va. , Tina Hersman of Hickory, Janet & Joe McGonigal of Hickory, three sons; Charles â??Timâ? & Brenda Howell of Granite Falls, Michael T. Howell of Georgia, Tony E. Howell of Spruce Pine, four sisters, four brothers, 17 grand-children, 8 great grand-children, 3 step grand-children, 6 step great grand-children and a number of nieces and nephews survive her. Her husband, Charles R. Howell and a brother, Marion Eugene Bolton preceded her in death.  The family wishes to thank Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley for taking such good care of their mother. A service of remembrance will begin 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2009 at Jenkins Funeral Home on Startown Rd., with Major Kent Davis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00-12 pm at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery in Conover. Pallbearers will be Marine Sergeant William B. â??B.J.â? Fleming, Arnold Jacob, â??A.J.â? Fleming, Shawn Taylor Hersman, Gregory A.
