Loy Keener

Loy Lander Keener, Jr. 75 of Lincolnton died Thursday, October 11th, 2018 at his residence. Born July 14th, 1943 he was the son of the late Loy Keener and Nellie Baker Keener. He retired from North Hand Protection after 38 years of service. He served as firefighter and chief of North 321 Volunteer Fire Department.He was a member of McKendree UMC where he faithfully served many positions. He was head coach for the Rotary sponsored "Rotary Rams" Pee Wee football team. He was an avid automotive performance classic car enthusiast and a member of Lincoln High School Sports Boosters.

His wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann Keener of the home; Greg Keener and wife Louann of Claremont and Rodney Keener and wife Laura of Crouse, NC; a sister, Pansey White of Denver, NC; a brother, Jim Keener and wife Cathy of Conyers, GA; five grandchildren, Lauren Philyaw and husband Jeremy, Scott Keener, Nicole Keener, Daniel Keener and wife Maelle, Mathew Keener and a great grandchild, Amberlyn Philyaw survive him.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be 1:00 pm Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at McKendree UMC with Rev. Gregg Plot officiating. Burial will follow at McKendree UMC Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-12:45 pm Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at McKendree UMC.
