Loyd Lewis

Loyd Edward Lewis 75 of Newton died Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at his home. Born February 25th, 1942 he was the son of the late Henry Lewis and Mildred Cahoon Lewis. Loyd was a part of a prayer and share bible study at Christ Alive Church. Prior to medical issues he was often seen helping around the Church and doing things behind the scenes. He was also involved in the Church Food Pantry Ministry. Loyd was a very generous man always offering to loan anything he had and loved to share his old school knowledge with the younger Generation.  Two daughters Edwina Santos and husband Brian of Hickory, Tabitha Phillips and husband Jack of Kansas; two sons Robert Lewis of California, Timothy Lewis of California; three sisters June Sheets, Millie Lewis, and Donna Kleine; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren survive him.  He is preceeded in death by his loving wife of 50 years Rita Roberta Lewis and sister Ginger James. Memorial services will be held Friday, June 9, 2017, at 6:30 pm, at Christ Alive Church in Newton, NC, with Pastor Mark Ivey officiating.
