Lyndi Buchanan Stoddard returned home to her Father in Heaven on February 21, 2024, in Newton, North Carolina, at the age of 35 with her sweetheart, Eric Parker Stoddard, by her side. She courageously and valiantly battled cancer for 11 months with optimism that was contagious and inspiring.
Lyndi grew up in Centerville, Utah. She was the first child born to Michael Ray and Rashelle Wasden Buchanan, born on May 4, 1988. She has three brothers, Ryan Michael, Brandon James, and Jordan Blake Buchanan, who adore their older sister. She is an amazing daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, but her most cherished titles are those of “Eric’s wife” and “momma.” Lyndi loved being Lukas’, Coleman’s and Camilla’s momma and loved their snuggles.
Travel was something that Lyndi loved. She was a master at researching and organizing the details, planning, and then making the trip happen. It was all about the memories and experiences with those she loved. In November of 2023 after several rounds of chemo treatments, Lyndi, Eric, and the kids went to Myrtle Beach. This was the last trip Eric and the kids would have with the amazing woman they loved. Over the years, she planned trips to different parks with the kids, trips to try different restaurants, trips to almost all of the 50 states and several countries, and trips to visit family and friends. As long as memories were made the trip was a success.
Lyndi loves education. She attended Viewmont High School, BYU-Idaho, and Southern Utah University. Education was something that she had valued throughout her life. She loved to learn, and she loved to teach. She has made so many friends along the way who have touched her life for good. Lyndi valued friendships both old and new, with friends and with family. She loved the power of cousins.
Lyndi was a beacon of light, hope, and joy to all who knew her. Her strength and unwavering love inspired those around her throughout her life. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lyndi had a powerful testimony of Jesus Christ and was honored to be able to serve as a missionary in the Baltimore Maryland Mission with President and Sister Belliston.
Lyndi is survived by her loving husband, Eric Stoddard, and their three children: Lukas Parker, Coleman James, and Camilla Jo. She is also survived by her father, Michael Ray Buchanan, her mother, Rashelle Wasden Buchanan, her brothers Ryan (Miranda), Brandon (Clara), and Jordan (Madeline), her grandparents George ElRay Buchanan and Glade James Wasden (Marilyn), the Doug and Susan Stoddard family along with many other family members and friends. Lyndi was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Kaye Marie Todd Wasden and Joan Humphries Buchanan.
